In this paper, new travelling wave solutions to the Fornberg-Whitham equation ut − uxxt + ux + uux = uuxxx + 3uxuxx are investigated. They are characterized by two parameters. The expresssions of the periodic and solitary wave solutions are obtained.

As a continuation of our previous work, we improve here some results on convergence of periodic KP traveling waves to solitary ones as period goes to innnity. In addition, we present some qualitative properties of such waves, as well as nonexistence results, in the case of general nonlonearities. We suggest here an approach which does not use any scaling argument.
